Kings Clipstone run

This weekend we headed back to Sherwood Forest to do another run. We followed the Kings Clipstone 7 walk from this website.

Before we set off I mapped out the route on TrailZilla, which gives you access to OS Explorer maps and allows you to export the route as a GPX file. You can then convert the GPX file to a Garmin course using GPSies and upload this to your Garmin.

There was plenty of parking at the start of the run and it was easy to follow, although this time we had the additional map from TrailZilla. Afterwards we headed into Mansfield, where the gym Gemma goes to was having an open day, and spent some time in the sauna/jacuzzi.

The Squire’s Walk (run)

When looking for somewhere to do our next run we found a list of walks on the Erewash council website. We decided to do “The Squire’s Walk” which starts in Ockbrook (10 minute drive from our house). We really enjoyed this run, there was a good mix of trail, road and running through boggy fields. Mostly it was easy to follow and there was a nice section running through Locko Park.

Edwinstowe run

We wanted to go for a run somewhere new and have been enjoying running off road recently. We found this website and decided to try the “Edwinstowe to Thynghowe” 12 km one. The start of the walk was easy to find with plenty of free parking near the cricket ground. We ended up going a bit wrong at the start but managed to find our way back to the route in the end and after that it was reasonably easy to follow. There were quite a few trees down across the Thynghowe trail as it had been very windy.
